Location:- The cottage is at (8) Askernish which is about 5 miles from the port of Lochboisdale (sailing from Oban, sometimes via Barra). About 35 miles away from Akernish is also the port of Lochmaddy, North Uist (sailings from Uig on Skye) and popular tourist destination.

Akernish, South Uist is the perfect place for a varied holiday with nearby activities including walking(especially on the machair), cycling, golf(18 hole), fishing and lots more. Nearby facilities include a Kildonan Museum, cafe, craft shop, village halls, shops, post office and bars and restaurant.

The accommodation is a self-catering cottage in the traditional Hebridean croft house style but with all modern facilities including:
