Borvemor Cottages, two self catering cottages created within a 19th century stone steading on croft land with direct access to one of the glorious shell sand beaches of South Harris. Each cottage sleeps six and both are comfortable holiday bases on a working croft from where to explore the scenic West Coast of the Isle of Harris.
Borvemor Blackhouse, or Tigh Dubh as it is called (pictured top) in Gaelic was built just under 6 years ago, and is the first traditional "Blackhouse" to be built for over a century. Borvemor blackhouse was built using the age-old materials of stone, wood and thatch, the classic shape of the dry-stone island house. Borvemor Blackhouse has running water, electricity and excellent plumbing! The walls are lined with pine throughout.
Vallay House is at the corner of a dry stane walled garden and the sitting area at the back faces South and is very sheltered. Access to the machair land and glorious Atlantic beach is a few minutes walk away on the West coast of Harris. Highland Cattle , Eriskay Ponies and Blackface Sheep are on the Thirty acre working croft surrounding Vallay House and there is a trout loch quarter of an hours hill walk away.
There is an excellent 9 hole links golf course one mile away accessible on a daily basis.
