Stuart Macleod
Love the site folks. Got here by strange and mysterious ways but have enjoyed exploring an island I knew very little of. My grandfather Norman Macleod came from Tarbert, and his brothers and sisters lived there most of their lives. Norman lived in Seaforth cottage, which apparently passed to his grand-nephew George McDonald as the last of my family line to own the cottage. I know its a long shot, but if anyone has any info on Macleods, McDonalds and Seaforth Cottage, I like to hear from them. Its a long way from the Western Isles to Adelaide in South Australia, but I would like to make some contacts against a future visit.

My mum is from Scalpay and was just having a look around and showing my wife where we hope to visit in September.
Best wishes.

An interesting and excellently constructed site. Have not been to Scalpay but I will pay a visit when I am over in Harris in May. look out for a Welsh accent.

Thank you for a fab site. I ran across it accidentally as a lad from Belfast said he'd never heard of a name like mine and did not believe it ot be Irish. I knew better.
Have always thought that when I marry I'd like to have the honeymoon on your island; now I am totally convinced.
