It was really great to be able to access your site. My Grandfather was from Scalpay. He was Donald Gillies and I made a visit to the Island two years ago and visited some people. Would love to hear from anyone who may be able to give me more info on my family

You can never have too many sites when it comes to finding our ancestors and roots.
Great site. I've been here before (the site) but not for some time and was dismayed to learn you could be shut down. I trust that the referees investigate complaints thoroughly
or we'd be living in a state of anarchy!! Keep your page - chin - up!!

I'm trying to trace my family Tree(My Granny was from Scalpay) I'm looking for any information on how to do this for this Island . Also Has anyone done their own & found a Donald Maclennan & Marion Macleod (born approx 1880)who had a Daughter together & then Donald later had another 5 children to his 2nd wife ?

Good to see the site up and running again. Could do with updated info and up-to-date news. Otherwise an excellent site.

I must admit to being a bit confused as to what all the fuss is about, maybe your sight was closed or something, but I was pretty impressed by what I found when I keyed in Scalpay.I didn't expect to find such a well put together and informative sight.Of course you could [and probably will] expand and add to it, but for the time being..WELL DONE.
I know Scalpay very well, and if the web page and the bridge helps bring the Island to more peoples attention then it can surely only be good news. Keep up the good work, and hello to everyone who reads this..
Billy.
