Just my luck. I finally found out my ancestary finds
it's way back to the Isle of Scalpay and when I look
you up you're closed. Oh well I'll keep trying and I
hope whatever has caused your temporary close down is
remedied quickly. Good luck.

Hi Kelly, sorry to see that the site is closed down
- what's happening ?? (I've got a rough idea ......
Sounds familiar) Please use myself & George's signatures
in any formal protest.
ps I have done my best not to use obscene language -
it has been very difficult in this case !!!
cheers.

I'm very disappointed to see the site still closed.
This was one of the best laid out and informative sites
I've seen, not only providing a valuable link to all
those with island connections, but opening up opportunity
for local businesses. Best of all, Kelly has enthusiastically
provided this Community Service completely free of charge,
donating his considerable expertise and what must account
for vast numbers of man hours for the good of the Community.
From comments in the guest book, the impression seems
to be that the Scalpay people or the Community Association
are against the website. I don't believe this to be
the case.
Several weeks after the site was closed, I spoke to
one member of the Association, who was unaware either
of any complaint having been made or any letter being
received from the Webmaster. The complaint would appear
to have been made by one or possibly two individuals
and was not first sanctioned by the SCA.
I also contacted the Webmaster, to offer support and
remain impressed with his considerable restraint in
not disclosing the identity of the individual who made
the complaint in such a foul and personally abusive
manner. Even under these circumstances, the Webmaster
is treading carefully, trying not to upset or offend.
I would say give him / them a page to explain their
objection to the site. If they can't or won't do this
then put the site back up anyway.

I'm saddened to find your site gone. I enjoyed it -
it brought me close to the Western Isles, a place I
love.
