So sorry to find that this highly recommended web-site has been discontinued. I hope it is up and running again soon as it obviously brought pleasure to people all over the world. We visited Scalpay in August 2000 and were very taken with the friendliness of the people.

Are we not grown up to make up our own minds on a site?
After all if it was good enough to get a mention on http://scotland-info.co.uk/harris.htm it should at least be at the end of the link.
Can you mail me an offline copy?

So sorry to see that you are shut down - what a wonderful site - we are planning to visit Scalpay in Sept. and found this to be a wonderful introduction to the area. We wish you the best from upstate New York.

Great disappointment to see the site down. I had linked it to my search portal site for the large American Search Portal called About. Hope everything gets sorted soon and I can put the link back.
Good Luck

I ran into Kelly on the Internet while looking for some help with a program. It was close to midnight your time and Kelly went out of his way for over three hours to help me. He didn't even ask me for anything in return. I would imagine that "some local people" for some reason think that Kelly owes them. This man has done more than his share for Scalpay. Kelly is a credit to the island and what thanks does he get from some of the "local people"? The fools don't realize how many people from all over the world enjoy the scenic pictures and my someday want to vacation there just because of what they saw on HIS web site. I would just like to say that the Scalpay website is one of the best looking web sites I have seen in a long time. It's a pity that some people don't realize the potential of the net. Bring back Scalpay.com!!

An interesting site which is of interest to me particularly because of "Bothan".- I would like to try and contact any distant relatives that still live on Scalpay and i am sure there must be some.
My grandmother was Flora MacLeod who married a John MacArthur from Mull. They later settled in Colonsay.
I know that a branch of her family are Fergusons and I believe some of them still live in Fort William. If there are any distant realitives who visit this page then please drop me a line or two. You never know i might be closer to you than you think. I currently live in Andover hampshire having migrated south with H.M. FORCES.
