Dear Kelly and fantastic team;
I really don't know what is going on within or without
to cause such a lovely website to be sold, closed or
destroyed.
I am a highlander my father was born on Scalpay settled
in Lochportain North Uist and finally moved to lochmaddy.
For this reason I know what it's like to try and build
something worthwhile, and find all kinds of smell follow
you around.
If your site closed it's another voice lost in the highlands,
to find people who are prepared to work for free ( I
take it they know this Kelly ) scanning photos and spending
100's of hours playing with programs just to build the
site.
For us who have moved away from home, this is a lifeline,
you may take the highlander out of the highlands, but
never can the highland, be removed from the highlander.
You people of Scalpay who visit this website, you ought
to be proud of the work and heritage gathered, it's
now time to come to the aid of the party, bring material
to be added to the site.
Let the smaller of our Islands be a voice in the world,
it will only fall silent if you people of Scalpay allow
this to happen.

Ive signed this guestbook before
but i want to sign it again just to say that the Scalpay.com
website was brilliant. Had to be one of the best, if
not the best sites on the net for layout and contents
etc. It's a pity that some people don't realise the
potential of the net - these guys who made Scalpay.com
are a credit to the island - and what thanks did they
get from some of the people? It's shocking. Scalpay.com
was brilliant and put the island on the map. You guys
did the island proud - us lot who have Island connections
and dont live there realise that and can see that. So
thanks for your time and work and dedication to the
Island.
Bring back Scalpay.com!!
cheers, Dave

BOVINE
LIFE
A warning...we must embrace the internet...we must -
especially if we live in remote areas of the world...so
much potential, so much opportunity will be lost if
COMMUNITY sites like this - and that's what they are,
links to COMMUNITY are lost...petty petty petty small
minded attitudes will not help anyone. I worked in Harris
in 1994 for a short and blissful time, and to quote
others on this site...GODS OWN COUNTRY !!!...For goodness
sake keep this sort of thing going...it could have grown
into something amazing...Chris Dooks

re-visit the site soon.Hope you win the battle to keep
the it alive.good luck.

Great looking site! It brings out the beauty of Scalpay.
I couldn't imagine who would wish to complain about
scalpay.com. Carry on the good work and don't give in!

Good Site guys.
Not sure what all the fuss is about on the opening page
but with the pleasure it brings to those who are on
your feedback page I say stick with it, stuff the whingers
and do it for those who no longer reside in the Islands.
Those who don't like the site for whatever reason shut
up and provide an alternative.

I used to visit Scalpay as a child to visit my grandmother,
and when there had some great summers. If you are a
local of Scalpay and read this you might remeber me
and my two brothers Murray and Martin. I still wonder
to this day if roddy John is as funny as I remember,
if you remember us e-mail me at Cheify@yahoo.co.uk
