At
an Awards ceremony held in Cardiff on March 1, in the
presence of HRH The Prince of Wales, three Community
Association members were presented with prizes of a
£ 1000 cheque, an engraved plague, framed certificate
and publicity through special features in the national
press. The trip to Cardiff was made possible through
financial assistance and support given by Scottish Business
In The Community, British Airways, Loganair/Manx Airlines
and Western Isles Council. As one of the winners, the
Award went a long way towards recognising the community's
achievements over the last few years, especially the
tremendous work that went into the project.
