Kyles
of Scalpay is the name given to the stretch of water
that separates the Isle of Scalpay from the Isle of
Harris. It runs for about one mile and is only 100m
wide at its narrowest point. Until recently (when the
bridge was opened), the ferry ran from one side to the
other (click slightly below where you just clicked on
the map for more info.).
