Eilean Glas Lighthouse (page 3)

Just
before you reach the lighthouse there is a small
cottage. This area has proved an inspiration to
several artists one of whom occassionaly stayed
here.

not by the artist mentioned above, here is a painting
by a local artist - Ivor MacKay.

Eilean
Glas Lighthouse itself is one of the oldest
lighthouses in Scotland, one of the first four.
|
|
|
|
The
lighthouse has various plaques giving details.
The first lightkeeper came in 1789 and stayed
for 35 years.
