This
wreck has become a bit of a local landmark. The Gulf
Star (a 2000 tonne vessel) was carrying gravel to Germany
when, rumour has it, the crew all fell asleep and she
ploughed into a reef. The crew were air lifted off safely
but all attempts at salvage failed.
The
wreck has now been here for several years and the site
has become a popular site for divers. The wreck now
has much growth on it which is clearly visible. Devon
Cup Coral, Dead Men's Fingers, Dahlia and Plumrose Anemones
and various sponges encrust the hull. Visibility is
usually around 12 - 15m which means that this is an
ideal situation for underwater photographers. If you
