Scalpay
village is the most densely populated area of
the island and where you will find all the amenities.
In the village is the local primary school,
the community centre, post office, minimarket,
football pitch, The Free Church of Scotland
and The Church of Scotland.
The
village was once an incredibly busy place with lots and lots of childred attending the Scalpay school. Sadly these days you will not find too many youngsters on Scalpay..
The
Scalpay Supermart is one of the local shops
where you can buy all your "essentials".
Together with the other amenities and the excellent
harbour Scalpay is an ideal stopping off point
for many yachts.
