Here we can see Tony Blair P.M. and his wife Cherie with Donald Dewar during their visit to the Isle of Scalpay. They came to Scalpay to officially open the new bridge linking the Isle of Scalpay with the Isle of Harris. As you can see they are in the primary school with some of the pupils working on the internet. It is one of the Labour parties aims for the modernisation of all the schools and to link them all to the internet. During one of his business speaches Mr Blair mentioned how Scalpay and similar places were having to adapt to the changes in the global economy, Scalpay Digital Audio was mentioned as a company that showed "modernity" - visit their website in the business section.
